Dj Miss Divine Hush & La Vita resdient dj answers a few questions on Solo Records Ibiza Blog.

Dj Name: Miss Divine

Venue/s: Hush, Mambo, Pacha, Amnesia, Savannah

Q. Hi Miss Divine. Thanks For answering a few question for our readers. How did you get into Dj’ing & When

A. It all started I suppose when I was 7 I used to cut up the top 40 onto tapes does that count? I’ve been into music forever. I have a picture of me when I’m 3 years old with the biggest pair of head phones on. I got into it properly when I was 19 I entered one of those cheesy DJ comps and won I had only been mixing for about 6 months so was offered a residency straight away and the rest is history.

Q. So your a famous Dj in Ibiza, Will you be back in Ibiza this summer and where.

A. I don’t want to be famous I just want to be Rich J. Wild horses couldn’t keep me away as well as my residency at Hush I will also be promotions Manager for Defected this summer so I’ll be playing at Mambo’s every Tuesday and regular guest slots at Pacha, Savannah and Amnesia. It’s going to be a Big Summer for me this year im very excited.

Q. Ibiza is primarily known for its Club scene & partying. What do you like to do in Ibiza when not Dj’ing / Partying and what is your Favourite place

A. Sleep

Q. What is you best Dj’ing experience in Ibiza over your Career.devine

A. By far my best experience was rocking Amnesia Terrace for Cream, all my close  worker friends were there and I had people from the UK fly over especially for it so it was a perfect perfect night.

Q. In your job you are constantly surrounded by music. When not Dj’ing what do you like to listen to and why?

A. I looooooove 80’s music, when I was little my mum would always have a Lionel Richie or Belinda Carlisle CD on. My last track of the night in hush last year was always Lionel Richie ‘All night long’ the Dance floor used to go nuts it was so funny watching all these sweaty bods off their nut singing ‘All night long’. I’m really into liquid D’n’B it’s got a more soulful edge than the jump up stuff. And of course all genres of House, I’m really into deep House right now.

Q. Vinyl or Cd & Why? & Where do you get your tunes.

A. I hate to say it but CD, my Vinyl collection is gathering dust in the loft along with my Technics. I worked in Record shops for 3 years so I was a vinyl addict and a total train spotter, someone would hum a track and I would know the artist, label, original vocal but now CD’s have made me a little lazy. I only know the track title and the artist. It’s my mission this summer to sort my CD wallet out. I get most my tracks from Beatport or Juno but im also on lots of label promo lists.

Q. Besides yourself who do you think is the best Dj in the world & Why

A.God that is a really hard question and I can’t answer it, there’s so many more DJ’s that I want to hear. There’s lost of DJ’s I respect in the industry and that inspire me. Hardsoul is one to look out for I heard him in Miami and he was amazing. Dubfire is really doing it for me right now. Ask me again at the end of the summer because I plan to see EVERYONE!

Q. Why Ibiza?

A. I think it’s important as a DJ to play at least once in Ibiza to experience it and take it back to your city or country. I’ve played all over the world and nothing compares to Ibiza, Its spiritual lol.

Q. What have you got lined up for the Future

A. To be the biggest female DJ to come through. There hasn’t been any in a long long time. I’d like to think I could change history if I worked hard enough.
